Northville Downs can offer up to 52 live horse races in 2023 as a result of an executive order issued Thursday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
Post times will be at 7 p.m. for the first race on each date of the meet, which runs from Friday, April 7, through Saturday, Sept. 30. Each race date — Fridays and Saturdays during most weeks — will offer no fewer than eight and no more than 16 live races. One hiccup this year is that the 2023 schedule offers 10 fewer dates than the 2022 race meeting.
“I wish Northville Downs and the Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association much success for the remaining 2022 season and for the 2023 season,” Henry Williams, executive director of Michigan Gaming Control Board, said in a release. “Live horse racing at Northville Downs has been a Michigan tradition since 1944.”
Additionally, Northville Downs will be simulcasting and offering parimutuel wagering on the races except on the following dates: April 9, Nov. 23, Dec. 24, and Dec. 25.
