Michigan’s online casino players apparently decided to pick a few apples and get in some late summer sun.
September’s gross online casino receipts dropped a tick from August’s $130.9 million, down to a still-robust $128.7 million, according to figures released Tuesday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board. By the way, that’s still the fourth-highest month in Michigan’s short history of online gaming, with April’s $132.4 million still holding on to the No. 1 spot.
As for individual online casinos? The story remains the same, with it being BetMGM’s world and the rest of the iCasinos just living in it. The big lion did a lick under $46.3 million in receipts for the month, besting second place FanDuel at $22.5 million and third place DraftKings at $21.9 million.
Fourth place was BetRivers at $8.3 million, and Golden Nugget held on to fifth place for the second consecutive month, taking in $5.8 million. Caesars remained in sixth place with a $5.6 million month.
After that, the pickings start getting slim and tight, with Barstool at $3.6 million and WynnBET at $3.1 million. Bringing up the rear were Four Winds at a shade under $3 million, Soaring Eagle at $2.9 million, Stars at $2.2 million, Parx, just a bit under $2 million, PointsBet at $845,655, FireKeepers at $700,591 million, and TwinSpires at $15,475 (the company shuttered iCasino operations days into September).
For the month, the online casinos paid just under $24 million to the state in taxes, $6.3 million to the city of Detroit, and another $2.8 million to tribal operators.
