And Gun Lake makes it an even 12 on the Michigan online casino floor.
On Friday, the Michigan Gaming Control Board authorized the Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan and their platform provider partner, Parx Interactive, to launch internet casino gaming under the Gun Lake/Parx brand.
And at 11 a.m. that’s exactly what happened, as the casino launched for play.
“We welcome the addition of Gun Lake Casino and partner Parx to Michigan’s growing online gaming market of 13 operators and providers,” Richard S. Kalm, the MGCB executive director, said in a statement. “Their participation will generate revenue to support education, economic development and the Gun Lake Band’s tribal community.”
Sportsbook next for Gun Lake
Gun Lake will also be entering into the online sportsbook world once authorization is granted by the MGCB. There is currently no timetable for that action.
As for now, there are 12 active online sportsbooks in the state, and 11 other online casinos.
The other online casinos are: BetMGM Casino, DraftKings Casino Michigan, FanDuel Casino, Barstool, Golden Nugget Casino, Caesars, Stars Casino Michigan, BetRivers Casino, WynnBet Casino Michigan, TwinSpires, and Four Winds. Additionally, PointsBet, Soaring Eagle, and FireKeepers are expected to launch their online casinos sometime in 2021.
